MICHEAL O hIFEARNAIN: Information on Michael Richard Heffernan  Zoom on Michael Richard Heffernan  asked the Minister for Defence whether the application from William Sullivan, of Knockagh, Cahir, Co. Tipperary, for a wound pension for injuries received when he was shot by British military in October, 1921, has been considered; [2064] if the application was considered what decision was arrived at, and, if in the event of it being unfavourable to Sullivan, the Minister is willing to have the case re-opened for further consideration and for the consideration of any further evidence which Sullivan may be able to produce.

MINISTER for DEFENCE (Mr. Hughes): Information on Peter Hughes  Zoom on Peter Hughes  Mr. Sullivan's claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1923, in respect of wounds sustained in April, 1921, not October, 1921, as stated by the Deputy, has been considered. Medical examination showed that he is not suffering any disability as a result of his injuries. No award can, therefore, be made to him. He was so informed on the 17th ultimo. I will, of course, consider any fresh evidence as to disability offered by the claimant.
