Seosamh O Cinnéide:
asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether, as it is now possible for labourers to work from 8 o'clock a.m. to 6 o'clock p.m. on a working day, he will speed up the relief works about to be undertaken by his Department, so as to relieve unemployment during the present month.
Minister for Local Government and Public Health (General Mulcahy):
Local authorities to whom allocations from relief funds have been made [829] towards the cost of carrying out approved works have in all cases been requested to expedite the starting of the works.
