Mr. Hogan: (Clare) asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that a person of foreign nationality to whom a permit was issued to reside in this country as the agent of the firm A.E.G. of Berlin subsequently ceased being employed in that capacity and now carries on business in Dublin as a consulting [172] electrical engineer and whether he will state if the permit now held by the person concerned authorises residence in this country in the last mentioned capacity; the circumstances in which it was so made and the period of its currency.
Minister for Agriculture (Dr. Ryan) (for Minister for Industry and Commerce):
The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As to the remainder of the question, I have issued no permit to the gentleman indicated by the Deputy.
