Mr. Cole:
asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the serious flooding caused in the locality by the present condition of the Ballinamore and Ballyconnell canal, and, if so, if he will have the matter investigated.
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance (Mr. Flinn):
A complaint was recently received by the Commissioners of Public Works from the Ballinamore and Ballyconnell Drainage Trustees relative to flooding stated to be due to the condition of a sluice at Ballyconnell Mill. The matter has been investigated and found to be one in connection with which the Commissioners of Public Works have no functions, and the drainage trustees are being so informed.
