Mr. McCann:
asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what progress has been made with the erection of the peat-fuel electrical generating station at Clonsast, and if he can say whether it is the intention of the Electricity Supply Board to erect peat-fuel generating stations elsewhere.
[740]Mr. Lemass:
The position as regards the erection of the peat-fuel generating station at Clonsast is as stated in the report of the Electricity Supply Board published in July last. The board are watching the matter carefully and will lose no opportunity to place a firm order for the necessary plant, if the possibility of delivery exists. The board has not yet made any decisions as regards the erection of further peat-fuel generating stations.
