Risteárd Ua Maolchatha:
asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state in respect of each county council (1) the total quantity of turf sold by the county council to Fuel Importers, Limited, and (2) the price per ton paid to the county council, in each of the years ended 31st March, 1944 and 1945, and in the nine months ended the 31st December, 1945, and the total quantity so sold in the period from the 1st April, 1943, to the 31st December, 1945.

Information in the form of a tabular statement dealing with this matter will be furnished with the Official Report. County council turf production schemes are costed on the basis of production seasons and not on the basis of financial years. As regards the 1945 crop, provisional prices are being paid pending liquidation of stocks. Quantities of the 1945 crop delivered to 31st December, 1945, are subject to examination and check.
