Dáil Éireann Debate
Mr. Commons: asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state: (a) the date on which his Department received the C.B.A. form (application for building licence) in respect of the proposed erection of a bus terminus at Store Street, Dublin, for Córas Iompair Éireann; (b) the date of issue of the building licence; (c) if the C.B.A. form submitted on behalf of Córas Iompair Éireann contained a certificate from the local authority that the plans had been approved; and (d) if such certificate was not submitted, the reasons why favourable discrimination was exercised in the issue of the licence in this case.
Application has not yet been made for a licence in respect of the bus terminus buildings which are to be erected at Store Street. Consequently, the latter portions of the Deputy's question do not arise.
I may add that on 11th October, 1945, Córas Iompair Éireann lodged notice of intention to build offices and a bus station on the site in Store Street. When the Dublin Corporation had agreed that buildings for this purpose might be erected on that site, Córas Iompair Éireann sought permission to proceed with preparatory foundation and site works. That permission was granted by licence issued on 28th August, 1946.
