Mr. Sweetman:
asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) the number of completed new houses in County Kildare for which grants were [2102] paid in the years 1948 and 1949 and to date in 1950; (b) the number of additional new houses for which interim grants have been made; and (c) the number of additional new houses for which sanction and notification of the grant which will be payable have been issued; and if he will segregate in respect of each type of house (by reference to the amount of grant).
Mr. Keyes:
(a) Grants under the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Acts were fully paid during the year 1948 in respect of five houses in County Kildare comprising one four-roomed (grant £60) and four five-roomed houses (grants two at £192 10s. 0d. each; one at £225 and one at £275).
In the year 1949 grants were fully paid in respect of 28 houses comprising two three-roomed (grants £122 10s. 0d. and £125); nine four-roomed (grants seven at £175 each and two at £225 each) and 17 five-roomed houses (grants 15 at £275 each, one at £260, and one at £225).
During the present year, grants have been fully paid to date in respect of 50 houses, comprising one three-roomed (grant £122 10s. 0d.); 17 four-roomed (grants nine at £225 each; one at £235; one at £220; one at £180; four at £175 and one at £122) and 32 five-roomed houses (grants four at £285 each; 26 at £275 each; one at £270 and one at £165).
(b) In addition instalments of grants have been paid in respect of 43 houses, comprising four three-roomed (grants one at £87 10s. 0d.; one at £135 and two at £125 each); 14 four-roomed (grants seven at £175 each; one at £185 and six at £225 each) and 25 five-roomed houses (grants one at £285; 23 at £275 each and one at £235).
(c) The number of additional new houses in respect of which grants have been allocated but no payment has yet been made is 66, comprising seven three-roomed (grants two at £135 each, four at £125 each and one at £115); 26 four-roomed (grants 19 at £175 each and seven at £185 each) and 33 five-roomed houses (grants 14 at £285 each; 17 at £275 each and two at £225 each).
