Mr. J. Brennan: Information on Joseph Brennan  Zoom on Joseph Brennan  asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if rationing of butter will be reintroduced with the coming into force of price subsidisation on 23rd August next.

Mr. Norton: Information on William Norton  Zoom on William Norton  The answer is in the negative.

Mr. Lemass:  asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the present margins allowed on butter to retail and wholesale traders and what changes, if any, are intended in these margins when the retail price is reduced.

Bulk Butter Roll Butter
Wholesale 8/- per cwt. 5/2. per cwt.
Retail 30/- ,, ,, 19/4. ,, ,,

It is not proposed to alter these margins when the retail price is reduced.
