Liam Mac Cuinneagáin: Information on Liam Cunningham  Zoom on Liam Cunningham  asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the location of the lands in County Donegal on which forestry operations will commence between now and 31st December, 1955.

Mr. Blowick: Information on Joseph Blowick  Zoom on Joseph Blowick  The commencement of forestry operations on any new area depends almost entirely on the outcome of acquisition proceedings and it would not be practicable at this stage to say what new areas will come into the possession of my Department between now and next December. As an indication of the probable development in County Donegal, I have had a table prepared showing the offers of land totalling 991 acres on which price agreement has been reached and title clearance is in progress. With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I will have this list circulated with the Report.

There are further offers totalling 2,325 acres in the negotiations stage and it is possible that some of these areas may also be acquired before the end of 1955.

Areas (Acres) Location Forest to which area will be attached
64 Craigmaddyroe Raphoe.
93½ Grousehall Pettigo.
57¼ Glentillid Raphoe.

48½ Aghaveagh Ballybofey.
10¾ Mounthall Ballybofey.
26¾ Corraine Ballybofey.

44½ Ray Raphoe.
13¾ Killygordon Stranorlar.
65¼ Fintragh Kilcar.
95¼ Glentillid Raphoe.
88¼ Fintragh Kilcar.
35¼ Meenbog Ballybofey.
Total 991¼ acres

Mr. Cunningham: Information on Liam Cunningham  Zoom on Liam Cunningham  Has the Minister included in the figures land which has already been taken over but upon which no work has yet commenced? I do not gather from his reply that he included such land.

Mr. Blowick: Information on Joseph Blowick  Zoom on Joseph Blowick  No; the table which will appear in the Official Report does not include land on which work has commenced.

Mr. Cunningham: Information on Liam Cunningham  Zoom on Liam Cunningham  Would it not be relevant to my question to include in that table lands which have already been acquired but upon which no work has yet commenced?

Mr. Blowick: Information on Joseph Blowick  Zoom on Joseph Blowick  That is the table I am giving the Deputy.

Mr. Cunningham: Information on Liam Cunningham  Zoom on Liam Cunningham  I thought the Minister's table referred only to lands which had been offered or those for which transfer has not been completed.

Mr. Blowick: Information on Joseph Blowick  Zoom on Joseph Blowick  Perhaps the Deputy would look at the table, and, if there is a further table he wants, I shall be only too happy to supply it.
