[751]Mr. Moloney:
asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if representations have been received in his Department for an improvement in the trunk line telephone service from Ballyheigue, particularly during the tourist season; and, if so, what action is being taken to provide the desired improvement; how soon telephone subscribers in the area may expect improvement; and whether an outside public telephone kiosk will be provided at The Square, near Castle Gate, Ballyheigue.
Minister for Defence (Mr. K. Boland) (for the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs):
There have been representations for improvement in the trunk telephone service from Ballyheigue and it is hoped to provide an additional trunk circuit from Ballyheigue to Tralee in about two months. A telephone kiosk for Ballyheigue is included in the engineering programme for the current financial year. A site for the kiosk has not yet been selected.
