The Taoiseach:
Business will be taken in the following order: Nos. 1, 2, 7, 3, 8 and 9. Private Member's Business will be taken at 9 o'clock.
Mr. Norton:
At this stage could the Taoiseach say whether the House is likely to sit next week?
The Taoiseach:
I should think it should be possible to terminate the programme of this session next week, with possibly a meeting on Friday, but it is a matter upon which the Whips might get together and have a talk.
Mr. Norton:
There is a possibility of finishing on Friday—Friday week or this Friday?
Mr. Sweetman:
We cannot finish this week. The P.A.Y.E. Bill is ordered for next week.
The Taoiseach:
Not this week, next week.
Mr. Wycherley:
When is the first sitting next week?
[681]Mr. Sweetman:
Can the Taoiseach give any indication of when it is hoped to resume after Christmas?
The Taoiseach:
I should hoped to be able to let the Deputy know that next week.
