Dr. Browne:
asked the Minister for Education the date on which a boy [831] (name supplied) is alleged to have absconded from Artane Industrial School; the date on which the authorities at the school first made inquiries as to the whereabouts of the boy; and whether the inquiries were made verbally or in writing.
Minister for Education (Dr. Hillery):
My information is that the boy referred to absconded from the school on the 12th March, 1960, and that on the same day the Resident Manager from a telephone conversation with the brother of the boy ascertained that he had arrived home.
