[1055]Parliamentary Secretary to the Taoiseach (Mr. J. Brennan):
I move:
That a Select Committee consisting of seven members be appointed to be joined with a Select Committee to be appointed by Seanad Éireann to assist and advise the Ceann Comhairle and the Cathaoirleach in the direction and control of the Oireachtas Library;
That the Committee be nominated by the Committee of Selection.
Mr. Dillon:
Might I ask one question? Has it been habitual that the quorum of the Library Committee should be two?
Mr. J. Brennan:
That has been the usual procedure in the past.
Mr. Dillon:
It seems to be a very small quorum for a Committee consisting of 14 persons.
An Ceann Comhairle:
That is in respect of the Dáil membership only. The Seanad has a corresponding number.
Mr. Dillon:
I see; that would bring the quorum up to four.
