Mr. Donegan:
asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the money value of grants provisionally or firmly passed by An Foras Tionscal; and the sum remaining for issue from the allocation in the 1966 Budget.
Dr. Hillery:
The total value of grants provisionally or definitively approved by An Foras Tionscal up to 31st March, 1966, was £34.7 million. Of this sum the amount actually paid out by way of grants up to 31st March, 1966 was £15.9 million.
The amount allocated for grants in the Budget for 1966-67 was £4 million out of which £321,219 had been paid up to 31st May, 1966, leaving a balance of £3,678,781.
Mr. Donegan:
Does the Minister think he will run out of money by the end of this financial year?
Mr. B. Lenihan:
What a silly question: lashings of it.
Mr. Dillon:
From the Bank of Nova Scotia.
