Mr. Bruton: Information on John Bruton  Zoom on John Bruton  asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries how savings of £50,000 were made in 1971-72 in the provision under subhead B.4 for private agricultural colleges.

Mr. J. Gibbons: Information on James M. Gibbons  Zoom on James M. Gibbons  The saving was due to the fact that work had not commenced on a proposed new extension at one of the private agricultural colleges for which provision for payment of a capital grant had been made.

Mr. Bruton: Information on John Bruton  Zoom on John Bruton  asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries how savings of £128,000 were made in 1971-72 in the provision under subhead B.1 for universities and colleges.

Mr. J. Gibbons: Information on James M. Gibbons  Zoom on James M. Gibbons  The savings in the provision under subhead B.1 for the universities is due to the fact that work on the construction of the new dairy science buildings at University College, Cork, for which provision had been made in the Estimate, had not commenced.

Mr. Bruton: Information on John Bruton  Zoom on John Bruton  Does the Minister expect that this building will commence this year?

Mr. J. Gibbons: Information on James M. Gibbons  Zoom on James M. Gibbons  I understand that the current position is that fresh plans are in the course of preparation.
