Mr. O.J. Flanagan:
asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is in receipt of applications from industrial firms seeking statutory immunity for disposal of industrial waste; and whether there has been any increase in the number of such applications.
Mr. Molloy:
It is not my function to grant to industrial firms licences to dispose of industrial waste. The matter, however, may arise under the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959, as amended by the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1962, for which the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries has responsibility.
