Mr. L'Estrange:
asked the Minister for Lands the percentage of Irish land under forestry each year for the past ten years.

asked the Minister for Lands (a) the total amount allocated for forestry each year for the past ten years (b) the total amount spent and (c) the number employed each year.

The required information is set out beneath. Statement showing total sums voted, total expenditure and numbers employed in the past ten years in respect of the Forest and Wildlife Service.

asked the Minister for Lands (a) the total amount of land acquired for forestry each year for the past four years (b) the total amount planted and (c) the amount spent on the purchase of this land.

asked the Minister for Lands the total acreage of land acquired for forestry for the past 12 years and afterwards sold, let or handed back to his Department for agricultural purposes.
Minister for Lands (Mr. S. Flanagan):
Statistics of land disposed of by the Forest and Wildlife Service are not maintained in such a way as to make the information requested by the Deputy readily available. The extraction of the information would entail an inordinate amount of time on the part of the officers of my Department.
