Mr. B. Desmond:
asked the Minister for Lands if he will state in expansion of a reply of 17th July, 1973, regarding redundancy in the forest concerned, (a) the area of land acquired in each of the past three years for planting, (b) the area acquired by agreement and otherwise, and (c) the area for which negotiations are presently in progress.

Cavan): The information requested by the Deputy is set out beneath:
(a) Area acquired in each of the past three years at the forests listed.
(b) All of the lands listed above were acquired by agreement.
[2307](c) Negotiations for acquisition of land are not conducted or recorded by forest unit and lands are not allocated to forests for management purposes until they have been acquired by the Forest and Wildlife Service. The acquisition position in the counties concerned is set out beneath.
