356.

Mr. Connolly: Information on Gerard C. Connolly  Zoom on Gerard C. Connolly  asked the Minister for Education why school transport tickets have not been issued to pupils (details supplied) in County Offaly, who are presently attending Ballinmore national school, County Offaly.

Minister for Education (Mr. Wilson): Information on John P. Wilson  Zoom on John P. Wilson  The family in question reside 2.7 miles from Durrow national school, which is their nearest school, and 3.7 miles from Ballykilmurray national school which they attend. One of the children is at present accommodated on the service to Ballykilmurray on a concessionary basis, but as the bus in question is carrying a capacity load it is not possible to give similar facilities to the other children at present. The position is being kept under review and every effort will be made to facilitiate them as soon as possible.
