Minister for Defence (Mr. Faulkner):
It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 8 (resumed), 9 (resumed), 10, 11 (resumed) and 12. Private Members' Business will be taken from 7 o'clock to 8.30 p.m., item No. 22 (resumed). There will be a postponed division at 8.30 p.m., item No. 15, Vote 28.
Mr. Horgan:
On the Order of Business, I should like to give notice of my intention to raise on the Adjournment tonight the reasons for the changes in the school transport system announced by the Minister for Education.
An Ceann Comhairle:
I will communicate with the Deputy.
Mr. Horgan:
Could I ask for the Ceann Comhairle's guidance on this matter because, on a previous occasion when I tried to raise a slightly related matter, I was told by the Ceann Comhairle's office that I could not raise it on the Adjournment because it would cost £3½ million to restore the service to the 1979-80 levels, whereas the Minister for Education told me yesterday in the House that the motivation was not a saving in financial terms?

That matter cannot be discussed now. I will communicate with the Deputy later.
Mr. Horgan:
Who is telling the truth in this matter?
Mr. Griffin:
Could the Minister indicate when the Second Stages of the National Film Studios of Ireland Limited Bill, 1979, and the Irish Film Board Bill, 1979, are expected to be taken?
Mr. Faulkner:
I understand it has not been arranged yet. It is being considered by the Whips.
Mr. Harte:
Has the Minister's attention been drawn to the statement this morning by the Prison Officers' Association that they have instructed their members to ban the supervision of evening recreation in all the jails because the manning of the jails is at a dangerous level?
An Ceann Comhairle:
That matter does not arise on the Order of Business.
Mr. Harte:
I want to ask the Minister what action the Government propose to take.
An Ceann Comhairle:
The Deputy should seek to raise it in a proper manner.
Mr. Harte:
The prisoners will not have any recreation from 5 o'clock until 8.30 p.m. each evening. I propose to put down a Private Notice Question today. Did the Minister for Education say something?
Minister for Education (Mr. Wilson):
The Minister is totally in order. I did not utter one syllable. I do not know what Deputy Harte is doing.
Mr. Harte:
What puzzles me is that the Minister for Education talks Irish, English, Latin and Greek, but he never talks sense.
