Mr. Deasy:
asked the Minister for Education the measures he proposes to take to treat voluntary secondary schools in the same manner as State schools in regard to the provision of metalwork, woodwork rooms etc. and in the payment of grants.
Minister for Education (Professor O'Donoghue):
In the determination of the range of rooms to be provided in second level schools, no distinction is made between the various categories of schools — secondary, vocational, community — provided an adequate utilisation is established. Allocations of grants — capital and current — to voluntary secondary and to other post-primary schools are made in accordance with the relevant regulations applicable in each case.
