Mr. B. Allen: Information on Bernard Allen  Zoom on Bernard Allen  asked the Minister for Education the plans his Department have for the construction of a second level school in the Riverstown/Glanmire area, County Cork, an area which has a fast growing population and which has no secondary school at present.

Minister for Education (Professor O'Donoghue): Information on Martin O'Donoghue  Zoom on Martin O'Donoghue  Having regard to the projected population in the Riverstown, Glanmire area of Cork, my Department consider that a new second level school will be required within a matter of years. At this early stage of planning, it is not possible to say when the new school will be made available.
