Mr. De Rossa: Information on Prionsias De Rossa  Zoom on Prionsias De Rossa  asked the Minister for Education the sports and recreational projects for which grants were approved by her Department in 1982; the amount of each grant; the dates on which approvals were made; and the dates on which payments were made.

Minister for Education (Mrs. Hussey): Information on Gemma Hussey  Zoom on Gemma Hussey  Details of capital grants provisionally allocated in 1982 towards the provision of community recreational facilities are shown on the schedule which I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

The procedure established for the administration of the capital grant scheme provides for the initial allocation of grants on a provisional basis and grant approval is subject to full compliance by the applicant bodies with the terms and conditions of the scheme. Approved grants are then paid on an instalment basis as building works progress following submission to my Department of periodic architects' certificates of the value of works carried out.
