Mr. MacSharry: Information on Raymond MacSharry  Zoom on Raymond MacSharry  asked the Minister for Education the present position of the Government in relation to the adoption of the proposal for an EC directive on the mutual recognition of diplomas in the field of architecture.

Minister for Education (Mrs. Hussey): Information on Gemma Hussey  Zoom on Gemma Hussey  The draft directive on the mutual recognition of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications in architecture, including measures to facilitate the effective exercise of the right to establishment and freedom to provide services was adopted at the meeting of the Internal Market Council in Luxemburg on 10 June 1985, and official notification of adoption of the directive will take place on 5 August 1985.
