Mr. Cowen: asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Offaly will receive payment of his house improvement grant as the inspector has passed the work.
Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh):
In connection with the application for a grant for the provision of a bedroom a further inspection is being arranged in this case. On receipt of the inspector's report the applicant will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible.
A grant for the building of a bathroom could not be allowed as there is an existing bathroom in the house. Neither could a grant for the carrying out of necessary repairs be allowed as the house is the property of the local authority.
Mr. Dowling:
asked the Minister for the Environment when a mortgage subsidy will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.
Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh):
Payment of the mortgage [670] subsidy cannot be made until a claim form, duly completed and certified by the relevant lending agency, is received in my Department.
Mr. Dowling:
asked the Minister for the Environment when a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.
Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh):
The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid shortly.
Mr. Coughlan: asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a house improvement grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.
Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh):
This grant will be paid as soon as possible.
