Mr. MacSharry:
asked the Minister for Agriculture in relation to the [949] £4.9 million earmarked by the Commission from the proceeds of the co-responsibility levy to supplement the incomes of small scale milk producers in the 1985-1986 milk marketing year, the proportion of these moneys which has been issued to Irish farmers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Deasy):
The allocation of about £4.9 million to Ireland represented 5.4 per cent of the overall Community provision of approximately £90 million in 1985-86 to support the incomes of small scale milk producers. About 95 per cent of the amount available to Ireland has been paid. The remainder will be paid shortly.
