Mr. Begley: Information on Michael Begley  Zoom on Michael Begley  asked the Minister for Education the proposals, if any, she has received in respect of a new community college for Cahirciveen, County Kerry to replace the Presentation Convent and Christian Brothers school; and the proposed location for this college.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): Information on Mary O'Rourke  Zoom on Mary O'Rourke  In July 1985 a decision was taken to rationalise post-primary educational facilities in Cahirciveen and Waterville by amalgamating the four existing schools into a single community college. It is intended that this college will be developed by utilising the existing Presentation Convent secondary school, extended as necessary.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): Information on Mary O'Rourke  Zoom on Mary O'Rourke  My Department have not received, and are not aware of, any proposal that the Presentation Convent and the Christian Brothers school in Dingle be replaced by a community college.
