Mrs. Doyle: Information on Avril Doyle  Zoom on Avril Doyle  asked the Minister for the Environment when a £2,000 new house grant and a £3,000 mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who applied on 19 November 1986.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. Connolly): Information on Gerard C. Connolly  Zoom on Gerard C. Connolly  The house was commenced after 15 October 1986, and consequently does not qualify for a mortgage subsidy. A new house grant is not payable because, contrary to a condition of the scheme, a registered contractor was not involved in the construction of the house.
