Mr. Spring:
asked the Minister for the Environment the allowances which are available to local authority managers in the event of a transfer taking place within the service.
Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn):
Local authority managers come within the provisions of the removal expenses scheme which is applicable in the local authority service. The scheme generally provides for the payment of [2655] travelling expenses, subsistence, lodging allowances and the recoupment of other necessary expenses incurred in connection with a change of residence in the case of a permanent and pensionable officer who secures promotion to an office under another local authority carrying a maximum salary higher than the maximum attaching to the previous office.
