Mr. Gilmore:
asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allocate the cost of resurfacing Churchview Road, Killiney, County Dublin, to Dublin County Council in view of the persistent problems of traffic speed, traffic volume and traffic noise on that road.
Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn):
As the road in question is a non-national road, responsibility for its maintenance is a matter for the local authority concerned. The local authority may, at its discretion, use the discretionary grants for non-national roads, paid by my Department, to supplement expenditure from its own resources on such work.
