Mr. Pattison:
asked the Minister for Labour the reason for the delay in instituting enforcement proceedings under the Unfair Dismissals Act, 1977, in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.
Minister for Labour (Mr. B. Ahern):
The Employment Appeals Tribunal decided that the employee in this case should be reinstated by his employer under the terms of the Unfair Dismissals Act, 1977. The employee has not been reinstated and following necessary [471] inquiries by my Department, the matter has been referred to the Chief State Solicitor to consider instituting legal proceedings. In view of the possibility that legal action will be taken in this case, I do not wish to comment further on the matter.
