  145.  Mr. Dennehy  Information on John Dennehy  Zoom on John Dennehy   asked the Minister for the Environment  Information on Pádraig Flynn  Zoom on Pádraig Flynn   if he will consider changing the regulation whereby an Irish national who holds a driving licence in a developing country and allows his Irish licence to lapse must, on temporary reassignment or permanent return take out, and pay for a new learner's licence and then apply and pay for the driving test.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn): Information on Pádraig Flynn  Zoom on Pádraig Flynn  I am currently considering the question of an amendment to the regulation to meet circumstances such as those referred to by the Deputy.
