  93.  Mr. Durkan  Information on Bernard Durkan  Zoom on Bernard Durkan   asked the Minister for Health  Information on Rory O'Hanlon  Zoom on Rory O'Hanlon   the total number of operations carried out in private hospitals for each year since 1982; the total number of operations carried out in public hospitals in the same period; the total number of beds, both surgical and medical, available in private hospitals each year since 1982; the total bed numbers available in public hospitals in the same period; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): Information on Rory O'Hanlon  Zoom on Rory O'Hanlon  The information about private hospital activity requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department. The available information about public hospital bed complements on 31 December of each year is contained in the table below. The actual number of beds available fluctuates through the year.
