Mr. J. Bruton
asked the
Minister for Social Welfare
if he will outline in respect of each State body to which he is statutorily responsible, the public buildings where easy access facilities such as ramps, lifts or otherwise of persons using wheelchairs do not exist; the services provided in the buildings; and the plans to improve accessibilty thereto.
Minister for Social Welfare (Dr. Woods):
The Combat Poverty Agency, located at 8 Charlemont Street, Dublin 2, does not have easy access facilities and it would be difficult to provide such facilities because of the nature of the building concerned. The agency, however, is not obliged to provide services directly to the public at its premises.
[2329] The premises are held under a 20 year lease which is due to expire in 1995.
