  28.  Mr. Gilmore      asked the Minister for Labour      if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the £5 weekly fuel voucher is not paid to social employment scheme workers outside of Dublin; if he will extend this payment to all social employment scheme workers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Labour (Mr. B. Ahern):    I am aware that SES participants do not qualify for fuel vouchers under the national fuel scheme.

However, the possible loss of entitlements such as fuel vouchers was taken into account in determining the level of payments under the social employment scheme which are pitched above the level participants would have received if they had remained on the live register.
