  87.  Mr. Noonan (Limerick East)  Information on Michael Noonan  Zoom on Michael Noonan   asked the Minister for Finance  Information on Albert Reynolds  Zoom on Albert Reynolds   the estimated cost to the Exchequer in 1991 of adjusting income tax bands and personal allowances to allow for inflation.

Minister for Finance (Mr. A. Reynolds): Information on Albert Reynolds  Zoom on Albert Reynolds  It is estimated that each 1 per cent adjustment in income tax bands and personal allowances to allow for inflation would cost approximately £9.3 million in 1991 and £15.5 million in a full year. These figures are provisional and are likely to be revised.
