asked the
Minister for Finance
when he intends to carry out major structural repairs on the Garda station in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary; the extent and nature of the proposed works; when they will be carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Minister for Finance (Mr. A. Reynolds):
A scheme of improvement and maintenance works at this Garda station has been prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works, in consultation with the Garda authorities.
The scheme provides for major refurbishment of the ground, first and second floors of the building, as well as a number [1860] of improvement works to the exterior of the premises.
The commissioners expect that tenders will be invited and a contract placed in the new year.
