Haughey   if he will make a statement on (a) the holding of dinner functions for party political purposes in Government Buildings and (b) the funding of such events.

The Taoiseach: Information on Charles J. Haughey  Zoom on Charles J. Haughey  The rules and practice for the use of Government Buildings are based on those applying to Government property generally: official visits or hospitality involving Government business are paid for by the Exchequer; any other visits or functions, if permitted, are not paid for from public funds.
