Mr. S. Barrett
asked the
Minister for Justice
if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person remanded to Mountjoy is brought to a District Court outside of the Dublin region to be further remanded; and if he has any plans to alter this arrangement so that cases can be heard in a court in the Dublin area.
Minister for Justice (Mr. Burke):
The question of remand prisoners travelling for further remand to District Courts some distance from the prison where they are held is being examined in my Department. Any proposals I may have following this examination will be announced in the usual way.
