Proinsias De Rossa:
In accordance with [1694] Standing Order 30 I request leave to move the adjournment of the Dáil to discuss the decision by the State through the Attorney General to seek a High Court injunction preventing a 14 year old pregnant rape victim from seeking a termination of her pregnancy in the United Kingdom, the implications of the move for rape victims who may become pregnant, the implications for the rights of families and the implications for the freedom of information and the freedom of the press arising from a hearing of such cases in camera. In view of the urgency of this matter I should appreciate your co-operation to have the Dáil adjourned to discuss the matter.
An Ceann Comhairle:
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be one contemplated by Standing Order 30 and therefore I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
