579.
Mr. J. Bruton
asked the
Minister for Education
if Delegation of Function Orders have been made or will be made in respect of the Ministers of State at her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
580.
Proinsias De Rossa
asked the
Minister for Education
if all Ministers of State at her Department have been given clear indications of their areas of responsibility; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach):
I propose to take Questions Nos. 579 and 580 together.
The Minister of State at my Department will have special responsibilities in relation to Youth and Sport and such other general responsibilities as shall be decided from time to time.
I do not consider it necessary to have an Order made by the Government delegating those functions to the Minister of State under the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1977 and, [1106] therefore, I do not propose to request the Government to make such an Order.
