  71.  Mr. Bradford  Information on Paul Bradford  Zoom on Paul Bradford   asked the Minister for Education  Information on Niamh Bhreathnach  Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach   if she has received further correspondence requesting that she receive a deputation from Cloyne National School, County Cork, to discuss the question of a resource teacher for the school; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the school authorities have been seeking the appointment of such a teacher over the past number of years; if she will respond favourably to the request; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): Information on Niamh Bhreathnach  Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach  I have received the correspondence to which the Deputy refers and I am aware of the strong desire on the part of the school in question to secure the services of a resource teacher.

I very much regret that due to my heavy schedule of commitments, I would not be in a position to meet a delegation from the school.

However, I can assure the Deputy that I have arranged for the needs of this school to be taken fully into account when decisions are shortly being taken on the allocation of additional remedial and resource teacher posts.
