  37.  Mr. Finucane  Information on Michael Finucane  Zoom on Michael Finucane   asked the Minister for the Environment  Information on Michael Smith  Zoom on Michael Smith   the status of a supplementary grant application for a £1,000 new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. Stagg): Information on Emmet Stagg  Zoom on Emmet Stagg  A grant of £1,000 has been paid. This is the appropriate rate of grant for a house built prior to May 1985 when the increased grant of £2,000 was introduced. The applicants have also been paid £3,000 mortgage subsidy in respect of the house.
