Minister for the Marine
if his Department has received EU aid for technical assistance under the Community Support Framework; and if so, the amount in the period 1989-1993.
Minister for the Marine (Mr. Andrews):
The Department of the Marine is responsible for administering the Community Support Framework for Fish Processing and Marketing 1991-1993, which is an addendum to the main Community Support Framework for Ireland. EU technical assistance grant aid of £106,572 was awarded to two research projects under this measure.
The Department of the Marine is lead Department for the STRIDE Operational Programme for 1991-1993. That programme contains a marine sub-programme together with sub-programmes covering environment, forestry and food. The technical assistance grant aid element in the STRIDE operational programme comes to £121,000.
The Operational Programme on Peripherality 1989-1993, contains a number of projects promoted by the Department of the Marine. The technical assistance element of that programme is administered [1316] by the Department of the Environment as lead Department for that programme.
