Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht (Mr. M. Higgins): Information on Michael D. Higgins  Zoom on Michael D. Higgins  I have no definite plans at present to introduce index linking of the television licence [1821] fee. If such a proposal were to be considered all the legislative and practical aspects of the matter would be investigated.

While competition policy is a matter for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment, I understand that EU competition law would not apply in this area.
