Ahern  Information on Bertie Ahern  Zoom on Bertie Ahern   asked the Minister for the Environment  Information on Brendan Howlin  Zoom on Brendan Howlin   the spending on roads national, secondary and county in the six Border counties in each of the years from 1989 to 1995; and the amount of funding from each source local authority and central Government for total road spending in each county. Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin): Information on Brendan Howlin  Zoom on Brendan Howlin  Details of national and non-national road grant payments and own resources expenditure on roads by local authorities in the period 1989-1995 are contained in the booklet “State Grant Payments to Local Authorities for National, Non-National and Non-Public Accommodation Roads and own resources expenditure by Local Authorities on National and Non-National Roads in the period 1986-95” which is available in the Oireachtas Library.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin): Information on Brendan Howlin  Zoom on Brendan Howlin  State funding for improvement works on public roads in the six Border counties in the period 1989 to 1995 attracted the following amounts of EU assistance:
