Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Ms McManus): Information on Liz McManus  Zoom on Liz McManus  I propose to take Questions Nos. 16 and 34 together.

Under the conservation measure of sub-programme 3 — urban and village renewal — of the Operational Programme for Local Urban and Rural Development, grants are available to local authorities, conservation and similar bodies for urban conservation projects. It is expected that funding of the following order will be available for this purpose: 1997 £800,000; 1998 £800,000; 1999 £800,000.

I am arranging to have tables giving updated details of the grants provided under measures 1, five major initiatives; measure 2, urban improvements; measure 3, village improvements, and measure 4, urban conservation, of the urban and village renewal sub-programme in 1994 and 1995, with details of the 1996 allocations, placed in the Oireachtas Library.
