Minister for the Marine
if he will sanction the commencement of works on the dredging of Castletownbere Harbour, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for the Marine (Mr. Barrett):
I have provided the necessary funding for dredging at Castletownbere under the 1996 Fishery Harbour Capital Development Programme. The Department's engineering division is currently analysing the specific dredging [2296] requirements at the harbour with a view to commencing the works as soon as possible. Users of the harbour are being kept informed of developments.
