Ahern  Information on Dermot Ahern  Zoom on Dermot Ahern   asked the Minister for the Environment  Information on Brendan Howlin  Zoom on Brendan Howlin   the amount paid by his Department in relation to publicity and public relations in each of the years from 1994 to date in 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin): Information on Brendan Howlin  Zoom on Brendan Howlin  My Department has not incurred any expenditure on public relations and publicity, during the period since 1994. Expenditure is, of course, incurred on advertising, both of a routine nature, arising principally from statutory obligations, and [866] for special campaigns which are undertaken from time to time; examples include advertising in relation to the Litter Initiative, the register of electors and the Christmas waste recycling campaign. The Department also issues a wide range of publications including a newsletter, DOE News, the Environment Bulletin, quarterly bulletins of housing statistics and planning statistics, etc.
